Making hits, Yard Style
Last year was a good one for rookie record label Yard Style Entertainment. The Portmore company scored big with rhythms like Extra Clip, Sweet Escape, Wire Dem and Pure Pleasure.
Paul ‘JJ Wizzle’ Stephenson, one of its principals, told Splash that he and his partners plan to ride the wave of success into 2016 with a slate of singles and beats.
Among Yard Style’s latest releases are Haunted by Dexta Daps, Money Talk from Konshens and Vybz Kartel, and Armed and Dangerous by Rico Tayla.
“We have a lot working on this year. There are two major dancehall rhythm projects as well as a reggae project that’s coming out in the Easter, which will be distributed by 21st Hapilos,” said Stephenson, whose production credits include Running Away by Gyptian, I Wayne’s Dart to Them Heart by and Jamaican Gangnam Style by Mega Banton, Gloc and Singer J.
