Children benefit from more ‘Wata’

Children benefit from more ‘Wata’

IT is no secret that drinking water is essential. However, water may be the key to saving your child’s life one day.

For the month of January, WATA has released specially marked bottles to aid the Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation. The company will donate $3 from every bottle of WATA sold to aid the Bustamante Children’s Hospital.

“Water is essential for life, and it therefore goes hand in hand with health,” said William Mahfood, managing director of WISYNCO.

WISYNCO has been a sponsor of Shaggy and Friends since its inception in 2009.

“As a water company, we understand the importance of educating and supporting young people as they strive to live healthier lives.”

Water and children

Water makes up more than 60 per cent of the human body and so drinking adequate amounts is essential.

Children especially need a constant supply to help them to carry out all the functions that allow them to grow, learn, play, and be physically active. Children who experience even mild dehydration can become listless and lack energy.

Water also flushes out toxins, which increase the risk of childhood diseases. The Mayo Clinic reports that nutrients from food are more likely to be efficiently transported to all internal organs in children who are properly hydrated.

Encouraging children to drink water from an early age reduces their consumption of sugary beverages and may lower their risk for lifestyle-related diseases in their teen and adult years.
