St Bess 5K Run/Walk tomorrow
The St Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce-Black River Chapter will be hosting its annual charity and family 5K Run/Walk to be held on Sunday.
Part proceeds from this venture will be donated to the Jamaica Cancer Society-St Elizabeth Branch. The proceeds will provide increased access to service for cancer patients within the parish.
The Sunset River Run/Walk will start and end at the JAG Myers Municipal Park located in the town centre. The course traverses the downtown Black River area as well as passing through the community of Newtown.
The event, which was first held last year, was a major success which was endorsed by the St Elizabeth Parish Council with participation from the Mayor of Black River, Councillor Everton Fisher. This year, it is anticipated that the event will attract about 200 participants and hundreds of spectators.
The St Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce-Black River Chapter is therefore requesting the support and participation from individuals to promote a healthy lifestyle and give back to the community through this initiative.
