Barbados-bound Canadian charged after ganja found in bag at Kingston airport
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Forty-two-year-old Garnett Ricketts of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, was on Tuesday arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Reports from the Corporate Communications Unit are that Ricketts was about to depart the island for Barbados when his luggage was searched and ganja weighing approximately two pounds found.
He was later charged for taking steps to export and dealing in ganja.
Ricketts is to appear in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, February 16.
