Sizzla excites on the track at Bike Fest
FLORENCE HALL, Trelawny — Patrons who attended the Sizzla/Imagin Records Production-staged Jamaica Bike Fest at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium recently, saw another side of dancehall star, Sizzla Kalonji.
The firebrand Rastafarian entertainer, who was expected to highlight the stage show, did not take the stage, but instead blazed a trail on the track in his black VW Bug motorcar.
Patrons stood in awe as Sizzla, whose given name is Miguel Collins, repeatedly maneuvered the “bug” at break-neck speed around the track.
Members of the audience were also treated to some daring stunts performed by motorcyclists from across the island.
In the meantime, Ninja Man, who gave a cameo performance, Junior Cat, and a number of up and coming acts provided the live entertainment for the moderate sized- audience.
Show coordinator, Henry Reeves, commonly called ‘File Wonder’, extended his gratitude for the patrons who turned up at the show.
He noted that the event ,which will be staged annually, is expected to grow and provide economical spinoffs for Trelawny residents.
“The show is in its embryonic stage and as it continues to develop over the coming years it will pump money into the Trelawny economy, so we give thanks to all who came out,” said Reeves, adding that “we have already started planning to make next year’s staging bigger and better.”
