South Central Super League continues with midweek fixtures
HAYES, Clarendon — Action in Zone One of the Charley’s JB Rum South Central Confederation Super League continues today with two games.
Jamalco FC host Black Star FC at Wembley, while Ricam Academy travel to Bybrook Oval for a date with Tru-Juice FC.
Kick-off is set for 4:00 pm at both venues.
Jamalco and Ricam head into their respective games with three-point leads over their opponents, following contrasting wins on Saturday’s opening day.
Clarendon Major League champions, Jamalco rallied from a goal down to beat Tru-Juice 2-1 in the early kick-off at Brooks Park, while Ricam – the Manchester winners – needed a last-minute goal to clip Black Star 1-0 in the feature contest.
Back-to-back victories would put them in the driver’s seat for the two semi-final spots from Zone One.
Tomorrow, early Zone Two pacesetters Dunbeholden FC play away to St Bess FC in the early top-of-the-table clash at the Lacovia Community Centre.
Both sides have three points, but Dunbeholden occupy top spot courtesy of a better goal difference.
Led by Alwin Morgan’s four-timer, the St Catherine Major League champions eased past Downs FC 5-0 at the weekend, while St Bess blanked New Bowens FC 2-0 on Monday in Clarendon. Balic Bejan (66th) and Jeffrey Thompson (88th) got the goals for the St Elizabeth champions.
Elsewhere, Downs will entertain New Bowens in the battle of the first-round losers at Downs Community Centre, as both sides look to reignite their semi-final hopes with their first win of the season.
