Cop found guilty of killing girlfriend to be sentenced May 6
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The policeman, Constable Lincoln McKoy, who was found guilty of killing his girlfriend Jessica King at the Errol Flynn Marina in Portland in 2013, is to know his fate on May 6.
The sentencing was scheduled for today at the Supreme Court but was postponed due to the absence of the constable’s lawyer.
McKoy was found guilty on March 29 following a unanimous verdict by a seven-member jury.
Prosecutors led evidence that in August 2013, King was shot in the forehead and neck from almost point blank range, and that McKoy then used his service pistol to twice shoot himself.
However, McKoy denied any involvement in King’s death or that he shot himself.
