Trelawny barber nabbed at MoBay airport with ganja
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A barber was last Thursday arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport by police attached to the Border Security Branch.
He is 22-year-old Sydney Edwards of Wakefield, Trelawny. The police say he has been charged with the offence of possession of and dealing in ganja.
The police report that on April 28, Edwards was seen at the airport in a motor car acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of lawmen.
The motor vehicle, which was parked in the departure area, was subsequently searched and 23 parcels of ganja, totalling 1.5 pounds, was seized.
Edwards is to appear in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, May 11.
