Spotted! – Luke, Sky and daughter Zyah

Luke Flynn remembers his mom: Arnella Flynn

I’ve

heard it said that a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs since the payment is pure love. Nothing can ever prepare you for all the challenges that come with raising children. When you become a parent, you truly understand how to love beyond yourself, I think a good definition of mother would be: someone who selflessly does anything and everything for the best of their child. There are simply no words that can describe the love my mother showed to me, but I guess the two words that come closest are PURE LOVE. My two greatest blessings are my baby girl Zyah and my beautiful wife Sky. Without them there’s nothing.

On becoming a mom for the first time…

Nicole ‘Sky’ Flynn

Mother to Zyah Flynn born July 31, 2015

Birth type: natural

I chose to breastfeed… a lot of new moms are not into it for all types of reasons. My mom did it and I think it’s the best for my baby.

On motherhood… Let me first talk about not getting enough sleep, forgetting to do things, never having ‘me time’ again, learning to be a real entertainer, constantly coming up with new ways to get that beautiful smile and the sound of that mysterious laughter.

The worry… crying is my new music. I constantly worry about being a good mommy. Am I getting it right? Can I do it? Will I ever sleep again? Do I worry too much?

Seeing yourself and the people you love in this little person is… so amazing — t is an unbelievably amazing feeling.

Watching her every minute… being happy when she’s standing and awful when she falls. Thinking of new ways to kiss the hurt away… the list is never-ending.

Words cannot explain… the bliss and joy I am in right now. I love her so much and I cannot imagine life without her, it’s like she was always here.

Some of my favourite times with Zyah are… taking her on long walks, watching her sleep when I should be sleeping too (smile), nursing time, beach days are always fun. She loves the water. One of her favourite things to do with daddy is swim. I get a little ‘me time’ when she is swimming with daddy. Watching the two of them laugh is the nicest feeling ever. This is an exciting time for me and I don’t want to miss a second of it.

Knowing how blessed I am to be… the wife of this amazing man and the mother of the most incredibly amazing little girl helps me understand the real meaning of life.
