Police link latest gun find to others in St Catherine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The police today seized two firearms in Old Harbour, St Catherine, and have linked it to two previous seizures in the parish.

One man was arrested in connection with the find; however, the police say his name is being withheld pending further investigations.

Attributing today’s seizure of a rifle and a .32 handgun to increased operations by both the police and the military in Old Harbour, the police say this morning’s seizure is linked to the seizure of three guns in Old Harbour Bay on Tuesday.

The police have also linked today’s gun find to the seizure of eight high-powered weapons in McCooks Pen, St Catherine, on Friday, May 13. Nine people were taken into custody in that incident.
