SAN CRISTOBAL, Dominican Republic – Jamaica Under-20 team leads Dominican Republic 2-0 at half-time in the must-win Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Group Four qualifying match here inside Estadio Panamericano.
Jamaica’s goals were scored by Shamar Nicholson and Nathaniel Adamolekun.
The hosts saw Luis Martinez’s penalty kick saved by Jamaica’s goalkeeper Jahmali Waite minutes before half-time.
Jamaica, on three points, need a win to have a chance of progressing to the CFU Under-20 tournament later this year.
Dominican Republic, who can finish with maximum nine points from three games if they manage a come-from-behind victory, have six points.
St Kitts & Nevis, who beat eastern Caribbean neighbours Dominica 4-2 in the venue’s curtain-raiser, ended with six points. Dominica finished without a point.
