Hughes struggles at Euro Champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former Kingston College Boys Champs Class 1 sprint double winner Zharnel Hughes continues to struggle, failing to get past the first round of the men’s 200m at the European Championships currently going on in Amsterdam, Holland.
Hughes who qualified to run for Great Britain two years ago, was fourth in the final at the British Trials held in Birmingham two weeks ago and was seventh in his first round race in 21.21 seconds (-1.1m/s).
Meanwhile, former Jamaica College athlete, Nethaneel Blake-Mitchell who ran a personal best 19.95 seconds, second fastest ever by a Briton, earlier in the season while representing LSU in the NCAA, is through to the semi-finals.
