Security ministry to deliver vehicles to 13 police stations

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of National Security says that they are continuing to boost mobility in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) with the delivery of motor vehicle to selected police stations across the island.

According to a release from the ministry, police stations will this week receive 13 more pre-owned motor vehicles.

National Security Minister Robert Montague said that the vehicles will be delivered in time to boost the traffic capabilities of the JCF for the holiday season and that mobility will play a crucial part in the continued push to decrease criminal activities across the island.

“Some of these stations have been without a vehicle for quite a while and we are happy that they have arrived just in time for the season. I am imploring the persons who use these vehicles to take care of them,” said the minister.

Commissioner of Police, Dr Carl Williams reinforced the minister’s statement in a recent handover of vehicles to the Port Antonio Police Station on Monday, when he stated, “Any man who carelessly damages these vehicles will have to pay from their pockets.

The police stations to receive vehicles are:

•  Yallahs, St Thomas

•  Amity Hall, St  James

• Rio Bueno, Trelawny

•  Ramble, Hanover

• May Pen, Clarendon

• Spanish Town, St Catherine

• Spring Mount, St James

• Negril, Westmoreland

• Orange Bay, Portland

• Black River, St Elizabeth

• Christiana, Manchester

• St Ann’s Bay, St Ann, and

•  Annotto Bay, St Mary

This addition is the third batch and follows the recent handover of 26 motorbikes and 21 cars.
