The 36th staging of the Digicel Bob Marley One Love Masters and Celebrities charity football match has been switched from the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex to the Barbican football field starting at 3:30 pm today.

The popular Ash Wednesday football extravaganza, organised by Clive “Busy” Campbell, will see proceeds going to Boys’ Town Basic School in Trench Town and Albert Street Basic School in Franklyn Town.

Lord Creator — born in Trinidad and Tobago, but who made Jamaica his home from the 1960s — along with the legendary Peter Tosh, Horace Andy and George Nooks, will be this year’s honorees.

Only one match will be played between the Entertainers and the Masters and Celebrities because the Barbican facility has no light to accommodate two games. As a result players from the Tuff Gang Invitational and Referees team will be filtered into one game.

A host of entertainers will once again be on show. I-Octane, Aidonia, Sizzla, No-Maddz, Ibha Mar, Krystian Marley, Kabaka Pyramid, Ninja Kid, Wickaman, Runkus, and Emanuel have committed to particpate. They will be joined by former local football stars Kevin “Pele” Wilson, Cornel Chin Sue, Robert “Bunny” Scott, and Marvin Chin.

Women footballers Alicia James and Tashana Vincent are expected to start on the Masters And Celebrities team, which is to include former Reggae Boy Ian “Pepe” Goodison, Denton Shedden, Andre Virtue, Jah Mikes, Lincoln Taffe, Rudolph Speid, attorney Ian Wilkinson, journalists Ralston Hyman and Sean Grant. David James, the father of deceased St George’s College Manning Cup player Dominic, is also expected to feature. Dominic collapsed and died while representing his school last year.

Admission is $500 for adults and $100 for children over 12 years old, while those under 12 will be allowed free entry. Music will be provided by Sniper International. Organisers say vendors will not be allowed inside.
