REVIVING LIVE MUSIC IN THE CITY
In September 2003, The Deck, along with band leaders Errol Lee, Dwight Pinkney and Mickey Hanson embarked on a project to ‘Revive Regular Live Band Music’ in Kingston. Over eighty live performances (Live Thursdays) were occasioned over a two year period showcasing some of Jamaica’s greatest talents including, Benji Myers, The Skatalites, Ernie Smith, Seretsi Small, Sabrina Williams, Pluto Shervington, Dwight Richards, Ken Booth, Maria Myrie, Dean Fraser, Ruddy Thomas, Boris Gardener, Leroy Sibbles, Bob Andy, and many, many more. Unfortunately, lack of sponsorship caused this very entertaining series of events to be halted.
