South Central Confederation football action continues

A hat-trick from Michael Hamilton was all Ricam Academy needed to blank Kemps Hill 3-0 as football action continued in the 2016-2017 JB Rum/Magnum/South Central Confederation Super League Competition last weekend.

Hamilton netted in the 22nd, 82nd and 86th minutes.

In other games played over the weekend, Rivoli drew 0-0 with St Bess; Holland PYC lost to Hill Stars 1-2. Thorn Simpson scored a brace in the 17th and 51st minutes for Hill Stars, while Valentine Thompson netted the consolation goal for Holland PYC in the 90th+1 minute.

Tru-Juice FC took all three points from Sporting Central by winning that encounter 3-0. Gawaine Smith scored in the 23rd minute, Keneel Butler in the 72nd, and Andre Taylor in the 75th.

Black Stars halted Downs FC 3-0 with goals from Akeem Higgins in the 18th minute and Xavier Harvey in the 59th and 68th minutes.

Meanwhile, New Bowens lost to Dunbeholden 0-3. Kwame Richardson netted in the 35th and 88th minutes, while Lorenzo Dubidad got on the scoresheet in the 87th minute.

Tru-Juice FC lead the points standings with 28 points, Rivoli United and St Bess FC both have 24 points, Dunbeholden FC, Black Stars FC and Sporting Central FC all have 22 points apiece, Holland PYC and Ricam Academy have 14 points, Hill Stars FC have 10, New Bowens FC on nine, Downs FC have eight, and Kemps Hill have two.

Games continue today when Dunbeholden FC face Rivoli United FC at Dunbeholden, Downs FC meet New Bowens FC at Downs, St Bess FC take on Black Stars FC at Lacovia Community Centre, Sporting Central Academy tackle Ricam Academy at the Tollgate Community Centre; Kemps Hill FC play Holland PYC at the York Town Community Centre, and Hillstars FC challenge Tru-Juice FC at the Kirkvine Sports Complex.

The matches are set to kick off at 4:00 pm.

The winner of this competition will engage in a play-off for two spots in the Premier League for next season.

MANCHESTER FOOTBALL ROUND-UP

Alligator Pond continue to lead the points standing of the Manchester Football Association (MFA) 2016/2017 Magnum/Captain’s Bakery Major League competition after clipping Comfort FC 1-0 last weekend.

Romaine Samuda netted the all-important goal in the 28th minute.

Meanwhile, Technical Strikers lost to Villa United 1-2. Goalscorers for Villa United were Nevaughn Turner in the 58th minute and Derron Cunningham in the 90th. Yakim Thomas netted for Technical Strikers in the 50th minute.

Mile Gully defeated Star Zone 6-1, with Marlon Miller scoring a hat-trick in the 24th, 54th and 61st minutes. Michael McLean in the 26th, Travis Hawthorne in the 44th and Gavin Sinclair in the 77th were the other scorers.

Keron Hewitt scored the lone goal for Star Zone in the 47th minute,

Alligator Pond lead the points standing with 16 points, Porus have 16 points as well but with an inferior goal average. Comfort FC follow with 15 points, Villa United are also in the mix with 14 points, Mile Gully have 11, Technical Strikers are on nine, and Star Zone trail with three points.

Games were slated to continue yesterday with Comfort FC and Villa United FC facing off at the Comfort playing field at 4:00 pm; Technical Strikers journeying to Brooks Park to play Porus FC at 4:00 pm, while today, Alligator Pond FC engage Mile Gully FC at Downs, at 2:00 pm.

FLOW ST CATHERINE FA MAJOR LEAGUE UPDATE

Old Harbour Bay United lead the pack in the points standing after beating Portsmouth 4-2 in a FLOW 2016-2017 St Catherine Football Association (SCFA) Major League game over the weekend.

Scoring for Old Harbour Bay were Devroy Gray in the fifth and 12th minutes, ending the first half 2-0. Tayjay Baker netted in the 48th minute and Najja Biggs in the 75th, while Tagea Brown and Ricardo Bedward scored in the 63rd and 87th minutes, respectively, for Portsmouth.

In other games played, Royal Lakes beat Federal United 3-2 with a double coming from Darren McQueen in the 19th and 85th minutes, and Karmichael Panchan’s single in the 78th minute. Stephen Morant scored twice for Federal United in the third and 80th minutes.

Christian Pen drew 1-1 with GC Foster. Kemar Bennett in the 25th for Christian Pen and Covanti Reid in the 35th for GC Foster College. New Raiders nipped Watson Grove 1-0 with a goal from Anex Buchanan in the 21st minute, while Bodles FC drew 0-0 with Dela Vega City.

Old Harbour Bay United lead the points standings with 28 points, next in line are Federal United with 24, Royal Lakes follow closely with 23, Christian Pen have 20, Frazsiers Whip are on 19, Bodles FC and Dela Vega City on 18 apiece, Newland, Portsmouth and GC Foster have 13 points each, New Raiders have 12 and Watson Grove have nine points.
