Windies President’s XI 119-1 at lunch
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — West Indies President’s Eleven were 119-1 at lunch on day one of their game against touring Pakistan after winning the toss at the Trelawny Stadium here Saturday.
Shimron Hetmyer 77 and opener Kieran Powell 37 were unbeaten at the break with Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir (1-20) who dismissed opener Kyle Hope (2) with the second ball of the match, being the lone wicket taker.
The two left-handers have so far shared 114 for the second wicket.
Hetmyer, a 20 year-old Guyanese who led the West Indies Under-19 to the ICC World Cup age-group title early last year, has so far hit eight fours and two sixes and faced 100 balls.
Twenty seven-year-old Powell, a Nevisian who played 21 Tests for the West Indies before a self-imposed exile from cricket just over two years ago has faced 78 balls and hit a six and two fours.
