What began as a retro party to celebrate the hits of the 1970s, the 1980s, and the 1990s, has emerged as a must-attend event on the entertainment calendar. Mello Vibes continues to pull large crowds, 16 years after it was first held.

“Mello Vibes is all about great memories and connecting patrons that were at the first staging 16 years ago,” said promoter Gyete Ghartey of GLK Entertainment.Last Saturday marked the 16th anniversary of the popular oldies event, and what a celebration it was inside Mas Camp in St Andrew!“It was great. The music, the vibes, were all electric. The event has matured nicely over the years,” said Ghartey.With DJ Nicco, ZJ Liquid, and Collin Hines in full command, patrons had a great time soaking up the hits that took them on a nostalgic ride through yesteryear.From reggae to dancehall, hip hop to rhythm and blues, dance, house music and rap, patrons tried to outdo each other on the dance floor.The next staging of Mello Vibes is scheduled for September 30 at the same venue.– Kevin Jackson
