MONTEGO BAY, St James — The sentencing of a St James policewoman, who was convicted for harbouring a fugitive, has again been delayed.

Constable Kaye Falconer should have been sentenced on Wednesday, however, her sentencing was delayed until June 26.When the matter was called up in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, Parish Judge Natalie Hart-Hines was told by Falconer’s attorney, Adrian Dayes, that a psychiatric evaluation report, which was to be presented to the court to assist with determining her sentence, was not ready.Without divulging too much information on what appears to be a sensitive issue, Dayes said the expert is in need of more time to do a proper assessment of his client.“Let me put it this way, he wants more time for a further assessment and to do up a proper report — that’s our position. You are looking for a proper report, he needs more time to do a proper report. Thank you, ma’am,” Dayes told Hart-Hines.During further deliberation, the judge asked: “Is she a danger to herself or anyone?”Dayes assured Hart-Hines that this was not the case.Falconer’s sentencing was also delayed in April as a result of this report. Her bail was extended.In February of 2013, an escaped prisoner, who the police had described as dangerous, was reportedly found at Falconer’s Glendevon home by the police.Other police personnel were also charged in connection with the January 30 escape of the prisoner from the Freeport Police Station in St James, under what is being considered as questionable circumstances.— Anthony Lewis
