Sabina Park ready for final Windies, India ODI — JCA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) says the final touches are being put to Sabina Park in preparation for Thursday’s fifth and final one-day international (ODI) match against India.
India lead the series 2-1, but JCA said it expects a large crowd considering that West Indies defeated India in their last match in Antigua on Sunday, keeping the series alive.
Sabina Park has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for the West Indies against India, JCA said, adding that when the teams last met there in 2013 the Caribbean side defeated India by one wicket.
The fifth ODI kicks off at 9:00 am.
The two teams will face again on Sunday at 10:30 am for their Finolex Pipes Cup T20 cricket match.
Four Jamaicans — Chris Gayle, Rovman Powell, Marlon Samuels and Jerome Taylor — have been named to the West Indies T20 squad.
According to the JCA, everything is in place for both the ODI and T20 matches including the venue, food and drink for spectators and security set up for ease of access to the venue by all stakeholders.
As part of its outreach activities, complimentary tickets will be given to thirty school cricket teams and coaches — fifteen tickets per school. Additionally complimentary tickets will be given to youth organizations and children’s homes.
Tickets to the matches are currently on sale at Sabina Park ticket office between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The costs are $2,500 — ticket only and $4,400 — ticket and Windies replica shirt combo.
Tickets can also be purchased on-line by visiting kyazoonga.com. Senior citizens 60-years and over will get one free ticket based upon availability. Adults who purchase at least one ticket will get the second one for 50 per cent discount if it is for a child under 12.
