J’can-born barber shot dead in US
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Jamaican-born man was shot dead in Queens, New York early Tuesday morning.
Popular barber, Zanu Simpson, 32 was shot in the head while he was in his BMW just before 12:15 am.
According to US media reports, a woman, who drove by the crime scene, told police that a man in a charcoal gray hoodie leaned into the driver’s side window of Simpson’s vehicle and repeatedly punched him.
Then the witness heard a gunshot as she passed by.
The woman said she doubled back and saw Simpson slumped over in his seat. Police said the victim was shot in the head three times.
He was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital in New York.
