Court officers participate in customer care training
ST ANDREW, Jamaica— Over 60 sixty court officers last Saturday participated in a comprehensive customer service training workshop held at the Mona Visitor’s Lodge at The University of the West Indies.
According to a release from the Ministry of Justice, participating officers came from the Corporate Area Civil Court (Sutton Street); The Kingston and St Andrew Family Court; The Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court Criminal Division (Half-Way-Tree) and the St Catherine Parish Court (Spanish Town) as well as the St Thomas Parish Court.
The ministry said sessions conducted at the workshop were practical and interactive as court officers simulated real-life situations, such as instances where users of the court were angry, frustrated or faced various challenges.
Additionally, there were exercises on appropriate body language and tone shat should be used in certain circumstances.
Chief Justice, Zaila McCalla, speaking at the workshop, charged the nation’s court staff to “uphold and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct” when delivering customer service to people who use the courts.
