LGBT pride celebrations this week presumptuous!
Dear Editor,
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” — Edward Burke
I am rather appalled and disgusted that the LGBT group would be so presumptuous to celebrate its existence during Jamaica’s Independence and Emancipation celebrations.
I am not against any group celebrating their existence, because the Constitution of Jamaica grants everyone the freedom of expression, but the LGBT’s effrontery shows it has no regard or respect for Jamaica’s Independence and Emancipation celebrations.
In which other country would this group be so daring to have its celebration with its Independence? Only in Jamaica!
In my opinion, this shows that the only true agenda of the LGBT group is of a devious nature and its own selfishness.
During our Independence celebrations we, as a country, reflect on the bold steps we made over 55 years ago towards self-governance and nation-building, and we also celebrate the way of life of our people. It is obvious that the way of life of the Jamaican people is based on our Christian faith, the constitution, our national pledge, our national anthem, and our laws support this view.
What has the LGBT group done for our nation apart from wanting its own agenda? A big fat nothing! Yet it is presumptuous enough to want to share the stage with the two most fundamentally important events in our nation’s history. What next? Will it want to share the airways? Or perhaps our pulpits? Maybe the written materials in our children’s books? Wake up, Jamaica, and smell the coffee or our nation. We are on a slippery slope to moral decadence.
