JERMAINE Allison-McCracken, head coach of Jamaica’s senior netball team, and Netball Jamaica (NJ), the local governing body, have parted aways.

It was reported that the president and technical manager were advised through an email from Allison-McCracken of the terms under which she intends to remain in that position as coach of the Senior Sunshine Girls.

Allison-McCracken also indicated in that communique that if the desired terms were not adhered to by the NJ, she would tender her resignation effective July 31, 2017.

According to a release from NJ, details of the request were discussed in a meeting of the board of directors on August 3, and the agreeability of the terms put to vote. The democratic process resulted in a unanimous vote to reject the proposed terms and accepted the resignation of coach Allison-McCracken.

The release said, in light of acceptance of the resignation of Head Coach Allison-McCracken, and the immediacy of the implications, the Board of Netball Jamaica has appointed Interim Coaches Sasher-Gaye Henry and Marvette Anderson to continue the programme for the rest of the year.

Also, the board wishes to advice that the probationary period of six months that was included in coach McCracken’s contract would have taken her to the end of September 2017.

The release also said that Allison-McCracken’s continuation as head coach of the Senior Sunshine Girls squad was contingent on a final appraisal of her performance over the period.

The Board thanked coach Allison-McCracken for her contributions over the last four months and wished her success in all future endeavours.
