Jamaica’s National Under-15 Reggae Boyz team, led by Head Coach Aaron Lawrence, is set to depart the island today for United States to participate in the 2017 CONCACAF Boys’ Championship to be held at the IMG Academy in Florida.

Jamaica are slated to play Panama, Honduras, Mexico and Costa Rica. Honduras are defending champions after topping a field of 22 teams at the inaugural edition of the tournament in the Cayman Islands in 2015.

Jamaica’s team has been in training since March of this year after an islandwide scouting exercise carried out by Lawrence and then youth football coordinator Wendell Downswell.

The technical staff were able to identify talent in competitive action during the Jamaica Football Federation Under-15 parish competition.

The CONCACAF tournament begins on August 13 with Jamaica opposing Panama.
