MONTEGO BAY, St James — Participants in the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (MBCCI) Expo 2017 are in for exciting changes as, for the first time in its staging, the premiere trade show and largest of its kind in western Jamaica has attracted a title sponsor, with Yello Media coming on board in that capacity.

Yello plans to roll out its suite of products at Expo 2017, while offering communication support to facilitate business-to-business networking, as well as for entertainment value.

Addressing the recent launch of Expo 2017, Yello’s marketing manager Ayanna Kirton said her company was honoured to be able to participate in the trade show at the level of title sponsor, as the expo’s offerings are in keeping with the Yello’s mission to provide an outlet for businesses to promote their products and services.

She said Yello would use the opportunity to connect with industries being featured in Expo 2017 while bringing greater value to the initiative.

The well-established trade exposition will have its 17th staging from October 13 to 15 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall under the theme ‘Connecting Industries…Building Together’.

Co-chairman of Expo 2017, Brian Brown, said the focus of Expo 2017 will be on Jamaica’s service industries, particularly tourism and hospitality, construction, the business processing outsourcing/information and communications technology, energy, agriculture, and the creative industries.

This year’s staging of the event will also feature “robust business-to-business networking”, fostered by Jampro, under the Invest MoBay initiative.

A focal point of Expo 2017 will be an area dedicated to MSMEs and start-ups, with the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) being engaged to offer support.

Jamaica Ambassador to the United States of America Audrey Marks has been invited to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony and to lead a business delegation from the US to the trade show.

President of the MBCCI T’Shura Gibbs said exhibitors and sponsors can expect even greater offerings from the Expo 2017, as the team, over the weeks leading up to the expo, will be staging revamped promotional activities such as Pop-Up Promotion and Industries Showcase, presenting even more outlets to exhibitors to show their products and services, while further endearing the trade show to the public and increasing patronage of the initiative.

She expressed gratitude to sponsors who are already on board and who could realise significant mileage from their partnership with the chamber of commerce.
