Hail the stalwarts
Dear Editor,
Most of the time we seem to remember people and give them a little of our attention only when they are sick, when they are dead, or when they are in the limelight.
How many of us remember Joseph “Reds” Perriera, who was also one of the world’s best cricket commentators? When last have we shed some light on him? Can you imagine how he is feeling since the death of his colleague and friend, the late Tony Cozier? Tony Cozier was a giant when it comes to cricket and cricket commentary. When it comes to ball-by-ball commentary, these two stalwarts made it very exciting and gave us the listeners a vibrant spirit when we listened to them.
We have missed Tony and “Reds” so much — their voices are no longer coming from the commentary box.
Such is life.
But we must hail and remember them when they are hear, see and enjoy the commendation.
