KINGSTON, Jamaica — The joint forces in Mount Salem reportedly found a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum revolver at an open lot on Piggott Street in the wee hours of this morning.

The Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) Communications Unit reported that a team was on operations in the area about 1:25 am when the weapon was found.

It has since been sent for ballistic testing. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The ZOSO Communications Unit is reminding citizens that the moratorium period, where citizens can call Crime Stop at 311 about information on weapons that are located on their premises, ends on Friday.

The incentives for persons providing information that lead to the seizure of guns, ammunition and explosives within a zone or anywhere else in Jamaica are as follows:

• Rifles/Sub-machine guns- $150,000 per weapon

• Shotguns/Pistols- $100,000

• Revolvers- $75,000

• Explosives- Negotiable

• Ammunition- Negotiable
