Haitian among three arrested after ganja bust
A Haitian is among three people arrested on Sunday following the seizure of more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana in Hellshire, St Catherine.
The police have not released the names of those in custody.
In a release yesterday, the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit said the ganja was seized about 8:30 am during an operation by the police from the Narcotics Division.
During the operation, which the police described as a “special, anti-narcotics operation”, 35 knitted bags and two plastic buckets containing ganja were discovered.
The release said the drug has an estimated street value of more than $6.5 million.
