Arsonists attack Sts Peter and Paul Church again
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Arsonists again set fire to the Saints Peter and Paul Church on Old Hope Road in St Andrew late last night, causing “severe damage” to the interior of structure.
The church today said on social media that an intruder entered the building and vandalised it. Selected sections of the interior, including the pulpit, were set on fire, the Facebook post said.
“Security personnel, employed by the church, extinguished the fire and the police were summoned”, it continued.
This attack is the second in just over a month.
The September 17 blaze, which police believed to have been the work of arsonists, was put out by fire-fighters from the Half-Way-Tree Fire Department.
The damage during that incident was estimated at $100,000.
