4. Sentence Reduction Day: Crystal Towers murder accused pleads guilty

Phillip Brown this morning pleaded guilty to killing his pregnant girlfriend at their Crystal Towers Apartment in Kingston last December. Full story here

5. PNP’s Alexis files lawsuit against Young Jamaica president

People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for St Mary South Eastern Dr Shane Alexis has filed a defamation lawsuit against Howard Chamberlain, president of the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) youth arm, Young Jamaica. Full story here

6. Sentence Reduction Day: Groundsman pleads guilty to murdering Moncrieffe’s Patio Shop boss

The groundsman accused of murdering his 76-year-old boss, pleaded guilty to the charge today in a bid to obtain up to 50 per cent reduction in his sentence as part of ‘Sentence Reduction Day’. Full story here

7. 34 rounds of ammo seized in Denham Town ZOSO

Two days after Denham Town was declared the second Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO), the Communications Unit is reporting that the joint forces in a section of the community have seized 34 rounds of ammunition. Full story here

8. 91-y-o J’can killed, 100-y-o wife injured in US robbery

A 91-year-old Jamaican man died from injuries he sustained after robbers invaded his home in Brooklyn, New York. Full story here

9. Sentence Reduction Day: Woman pleads guilty to stealing baby

Lorna Williamson, who snatched a day-old baby from the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew last December, today took advantage of ‘Sentence Reduction Day’. Full story here

10. CHEC warns of water, electricity disruption as Barbican roadworks ‘speed up’

The China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), which is contracted to complete the US$4.4 million Barbican Road improvement project, is cautioning residents and business owners in the area that disruptions in their water and electricity supply may occur in coming weeks. Full story here
