MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Cornwall College and Muschett High split their ISSA Western Conference boys’ basketball double-header played at Cornwall College on Tuesday, as the home team lost in the Under-19 section for the first time this year.

Cornwall College won their third-straight game in the Under-16, beating Muschett High 65-25, but fell short 39-43 in the Under-19 after digging themselves out of a hole in the fourth quarter.

Five players scored double figures for Cornwall College in the Under-16 game, led by Omar Campbell’s 18 points and 20 rebounds, with Romario Senior scoring 12 points, Kenrick Brown had 11, while Rushane Francis and Jerome Spence both scored 10 points.

The home team led 11-5 and 27-8 after the first two quarters, before a big third quarter outscoring Muschett 28-13 and which saw them leading 55-21 going into the final period.

Kamani Daley-Clarke scored 17 points for Muschett.

In the Under -19 game, Muschett got a better start, leading 8-2 and 20-4 after the first two quarters.However the home team rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to four points, reaching 24-28.

Cornwall then scored the first five points in the fourth quarter to take their first lead in the game, but Michael Tomlinson, who led all scorers with 21 points, was too much for the tired Cornwall players.

Ojay Marshall scored 18 points for the losers, while Ryan White scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds.
