Brawn sidelined

Houdini’s Magic top weight in Coca-Cola Mile, Seeking My Dream out

The Supreme Racing Guide is confirming that Brawn, last year’s winner of the Coca-Cola Invitational Mile, trained by Gary Subratie, will not be defending his title on Saturday.

The Coca-Cola Invitational Mile, the Glen Mills Sprint Championship and the Burger King Superstakes are the slated feature races on the Burger King-sponsored Super Day of racing next Saturday (November 11) at Caymanas Park.

Brawn is suffering from a hairline fracture which will require a long recovery time, so he will miss not only the Invitational Mile but the Diamond Mile as well on December 2.

Heading the weights in the Invitational Mile, which is the only handicap race of the aforementioned three big Super Day races, is the Anthony Nunes-trained Houdini’s Magic with 126 lb (57.0 kg). Nunes is also represented in the race by the improving and exciting filly, three-year-old Bilingual.

Seeking My Dream, Diamond Mile winner over the last two years, is out due to injuries, but his trainer Wayne DaCosta has Lottery Ticket, Ian Links and possibly Gold Miner in the Coca-Cola event, with his other provisional entry Royal Vibes expected to start in the Superstakes.

Next in the handicap line is a former winner of the event, the Andrew McDonald-trained Phineas who, despite his years, is being groomed specifically for this race.
