Newlands man arrested for gun, ammo

ON E man is in custody following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Newlands, Portmore, St Catherine, on Monday.

The Portmore police reported that about 8:30 am lawmen were patrolling in the area when they observed a man removing a firearm from a bag that he was carrying. He was accosted and the firearm was taken from him. Upon inspection, it was found to be a Taurus revolver along with four .38 cartridges.

Police did not release his name.
