Off-road adventure begins this Sunday
The Toyota Jamaica 4×4 Club (TJAM4x4) will hold their first outing on Sunday, February 11, in St Ann. As usual, the event is free, but restricted to 4×4 vehicles from the brand.
“As usual, we say pack your picnic baskets, bring entertainment and come prepared for another exciting 4×4 excursion,” Howard Foster, sales and marketing manager of Toyota Jamaica, told Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
The destination for Sunday’s event is brand new, Holly Mount.
“It’s a lovely spot with a challenging drive,” Foster said.
Participants are expected to meet at Faith’s Pen in St Ann at 9:30 am. From there, all will trek through the off-road paths in Mount Rosser to the Holly Mount Great House nestled on 100 acres of untouched forest lands.
According to Foster, the pre-event response has been good.
In addition to the drive, Toyota Jamaica will use the opportunity to unveil the 2018 Prado.
“The new Prado will be on show as well as the other 4x4s we offer,” he added.
Foster expects the 2018 TJAM4x4 Club events to be amongst the best ever, as he has been personally scouting locations across the island to provide 4×4 thrills.
“We try to alternate between mountains and rivers, so the next will be a river excursion.”
Started in 2009 by Toyota Jamaica Limited, the club has attracted as close to 40 vehicles to their events over the years.
