MoBay goes Solar
With the rave reviews for the March staging, earlier this year, of Solar Breakfast Party still fresh in their minds, the promoters of the event opted for a second bite of the sun last Sunday.
It is now safe to say that the event has now solidified its place as a brand to contend with.
The picturesque Tropical Bliss Beach in Montego Bay once again played host to Solar partygoers seeking to party under the sun.
The party quickly got underway and as early as just after 6:00 am it was already rocking, with scores of patrons already enjoying the eats from the improved food stations, and beats from Montego Bay’s own DJ Jigga.
The smooth DJ Ashile and Bishop Escobar, with his witty commentary, rounded out the morning’s entertainment and kept the vibe flowing. It was clear that the chance the promoters took in staging another edition had paid off, with some patrons openly contemplating if this staging was even bigger than the March event.
Steffan-Chad Haughton, director, Antidote Entertainment expressed satisfaction with the production and positive feedback from patrons.
“The overall production was good; we have a few slight adjustments that will be made for our next staging but the overwhelming feedback from patrons is extremely positive. Patrons expressed satisfaction with the availability of food and drink up until the end of the party and the addition of more food stations and bigger bars,” Haughton stated.
Buoyed by the success of the event, the organisers have indicated their interest in growing the brand even more.
“The focus now is to expand outside of Montego Bay, with a possible staging as early as November in another party hot spot in Jamaica. We made some additions in terms of our offerings this year as well. Branded party favours such as mugs and USB fans were available through pre-orders from Imagen Nation Inc — and the response to that was also extremely positive. That shows the level of interest that the brand is garnering, and those factors combined augurs well for us growing into an even greater recognisable national brand,” Haughton explained.
The event at its core is a fund-raising initiative and proceeds are donated to the We Care Foundation for Cornwall Regional Hospital.
“We are forecasting $1 million for donation from this staging, and we just have to thank our sponsors and patrons who have been sticking with us as we rave for charity,” Haughton concluded.
