Despite several high-profile appearances in the United States last week promoting his album Hope River, Agent Sasco sold a paltry 273 copies to debut at number four on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart.

This is the deejay’s second entry on the chart. In 2016, he peaked at number three with Theory of Reggaetivity.

Released August 31 by Diamond Studios, the hyped Hope River has 14 tracks including collaborations with Dre Island, Glacia Robinson, Sevana, Stephen Marley, Wayne Marshall and Kardinal Offishall.

This week, there are two re-entries and new albums in the Top 10.

Alpha Blondy scores his fourth entry with Human Race which sold 95 copies to enter at number 10. His previous ‘charters’ were Dieu, which stalled at number 15 in 1995; Yitzhak, which peaked at number nine in 1998; and 2016’s Positive Energy which got to number 13.

Former chart-topper, A Matter of Time, by Protoje jumps from number 15 to nine with 101 copies sold. Since its release early this year, the album has sold 2,989 copies.

Another former number one, from 2017, is Good Life by Collie Buddz. It rebounds from number 24 to seven with 110 copies, for total sales at 6,271 copies.

Rebellion Rises by Ziggy Marley inches up to number eight after selling an additional 108 copies last week. To date, it has sold 7, 449.

Iration’s self-titled album is number six, selling 7, 971 copies.

Falling to number five is Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid, which sold 190 copies, down from 295 the previous week.

South Carolina reggae band Sun Dried Vibe s enters at number three with Stay Hopeful, their third studio set. Released on August 31, it registered opening week sales of 317 copies.

Rising to number two is former number one, Free Rein by Rebelution which sold 358 copies last week, an increase from 244 the week before. Its sales stand at 16, 935.

Sting & Shaggy’s 44/876 remains number one for a 13th non-consecutive week. It sold 672 copies last week, a drop from 707 copies the previous week. It is the biggest selling reggae title so far this year with 44,573 copies.
