PRATVILLE, Manchester — Former champions Garvey Maceo could become the first school to win their first five games in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup competition when they take on Winston Jones High in a rescheduled Zone M game at Winston Jones in Pratville, Manchester, set to start at 3:30 pm.

Garvey Maceo and defending champions Rusea’s High were the first to get to four-straight wins on Wednesday, each scoring six goals against Cross Keys and Merlene Ottey, respectively.

Six schools still have perfect win records, including Cornwall College, Frome Technical, Clarendon College, and Lennon High.

Seven games are set to be played today, all brought forward from Saturday, and Spot Valley High and Maggotty High could take the lead in their respective zones with wins, while Dinthill Technical are set for another big win.

The last time they met, in the 2016 season, Garvey Maceo beat Winston Jones twice by 4-0 scorelines and, despite an improved, by their standards, Winston Jones team, the 2007 champions will start favourites to win comfortably.

Second-placed Maggotty High could go tops in Zone E, even for 24 hours as they take on Newell High who are coming off their first win of the season, 4-0 over Sydney Pagon.

Spot Valley High have earned just a point from their last two games, but a win at William Knibb Memorial today would see them retake the lead in Zone C.

Dinthill Technical should get another big score today when they host Tacius Golding High, who are yet to score a goal and have so far conceded 19 goals in four games.

Yesterday, Little London High School took over the lead in Zone D beating newcomers Belmont Academy 4-0 in their rescheduled game at Little London yesterday.

Dadrian Davis scored both goals for Little London High as they opened up a three points lead over Petersfield High, who gave up a goal deep in extra time to draw 1-1 at Knockalva Technical.

Meanwhile, St Mary Technical retook the lead in Zone J after edging Carron Hall High 1-0 at Highgate Community Centre.

Nakeen Allen’s 75th-minute strike made the difference as St Mary Technical raced to 10 points, one more than St Mary High with Brimmervale High, in third place on seven points, all from four games played.

Carron Hall, meanwhile, are stuck on one point at the foot of the tables, with Tacky High.

At Little London, Kemar Shippy and John Sommerville also scored for Little London, the most goals they have scored in any game so far this season, as Belmont Academy have lost all three games played.

Little London High are on eight points, followed by Petersfield High on five, and Manning’s School on four.

At Knockalva, Petersfield just failed to take all three points as they led 1-0 from the first half after Shewayne Barton converted a penalty kick as Knockalva Technical’s goalkeeper fouled Jay Jemieson.

Chad Johnson’s 25-yard shot beat the Petersfield High goalkeeper Jeromey Monteith as Knockalva drew their third-straight game.
