Broken sewerage network in Seaview Gardens repaired — NEPA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is advising that the the main sewerage network traversing Seaview Gardens, which was damaged more than a week ago,
has been fully repaired.
The broken main resulted in untreated sewage being released into the area.
NEPA says it will now shift its focus to ensuring that Central Wastewater Treatment Company Limited (CWTC), the operators of the system, and the National Water Commission (NWC) collect and remove residual waste and debris in the affected area.
This will be followed by a complete remediation of the site, the agency says.
The public is being reminded to stay away from the area until the clean-up activities are completed.
