Chinese businessman charged for breaches of Trademark, Customs Act
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Chinese national was arrested and charged for breaches of the Trademark, Excise and Customs Act following an operation by the police in Petersfield, Westmoreland today Friday, September 28.
Charged is 48-year-old Yong Ming Wang.
Reports from the police are that between 12:00 midday and 1:00 pm, members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (CTOC) conducted an operation during which a supermarket was searched. Counterfeit items — nineteen 750ml bottles of white overproof rum, three bottles of Campari and five cartons of cigarettes — were seized.
Yong Ming is scheduled to appear in the Westmoreland Parish Court on Tuesday, October 16.
