Jamaica needs a fresh start

Jamaica needs a fresh start

Dear Editor,

Can Jamaica return to its glory days?

It seems very difficult for that to happen, but it’s not impossible.

In Jamaica today too many of our young men have a violent and detrimental look on their faces and are demonstrating the ‘bad man’ attitude.

Too many of our young men are armed with guns and knives and have a less than peaceful evil mentality. They are very aggressive and impatient, instead of being humble, agreeable and tolerant.

In Jamaica today too many business places, public places and spaces are overshadowed with loud, lewd music, instead of good, uplifting music. And this is a big problem.

In Jamaica today too many of our people are using indecent language. It’s very shameful and disgraceful going from place to place in Jamaica and all you are hearing is the outburst and the echoing of some big, dirty bad words.

In Jamaica today too many of our young men are being disrespectful to the elders and are extremely lacking in manners and good behaviour.

In Jamaica today too many of our young girls are becoming dangerous tomboys and a great many are getting involved with men at too early an age. Too many of our young girls are allowing themselves to be physically abused, beaten and killed by vicious monsters.

In Jamaica today too many of our people are in a mad rush, going nowhere — rushing to their deaths on the roads too.

Jamaica needs a fresh start. Jamaica needs love. Jamaica needs deliverance from the monsters of crime and violence.
