Connect. Create. Collaborate at CoWork JA

All the amenities and comforts of home are now in a co-working space at Shop #12 in the Liguanea Post Mall in Kingston. CoWork JA, the product of marketing and public relations specialist Tara Playfair-Scott, is a 1,650-square foot nook that comfortably fits 60 “co-workers” at capacity, has five office spaces for lease or rent; two boardrooms, a bar, and male and female restrooms.

CoWork JA is not just a getaway for work; Playfair-Scott has created relationships with several businesses in close proximity including Express Fitness, Chilitos and Broken Plate for “lunch break” delivery services, Innovative Systems Limited for computer or gadget repairs, FLOW for high-speed Internet connectivity, and Nestlé, which will provide brewed delights from the in-house bar manned by barista Kapil Morrison during opening hours. In addition, co-workers can expect exclusive discounts from GetThere Jamaica on rides to and from the community.

There’s even a green space. Playfair-Scott thought “Why buy herbs and spices for cocktails when I can take a farm-to-table approach and grow them from the bar instead?” She did her research and discovered the plants best for cocktails and found rosemary, mint and basil as the top three. Speaking of cocktails, Therapy, creators of 100% natural cold-pressed juices was on-hand with “hot shots” in the flavours zing – ginger; activate – charcoal; and breathe better – beat to take the edge off. CoWork JA even offers full-size Therapy juices on the ready.

The space is functional and allows for a little feng shui; in fact, Playfair-Scott recommends members make themselves at home upon entering the community. Walk-ins get to spend an hour, half-day, or a full day – which runs until 6:00 pm.

There will be a start-up seminar series dubbed The Art of Start, where patrons can learn about the fundamentals of planning, preparing, and financing business from some of the best in business. Get in the queue; all five offices are rented, with a growing waiting list. Saturday Social takes a shot of the cold-pressed zing and enters the community with DJ Chaddy G.

CoWork JA is open:

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

Saturday – Sunday – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Open to members 24/7

CoWork JA Front Desk Assistant Philippa Wilson got her laptop ready toregister new businesses.
