… Black River High simulates earthquake response
BLACK RIVER, St Elizabeth — Students and staff members of Black River High School recently took part in an earthquake simulation exercise in conjunction with several of the emergency services including the fire department, police, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the St Elizabeth Red Cross.
The simulation carried out at the school was planned by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management in conjunction with the school.
The school population responded to an alarm by carrying out ‘Drop! Cover and Hold!’ as had been practised. There were also search, rescue and life-saving exercises.
