#Doha2019: TT Cedenio wins semis heat as Bloomfield move into men’s 400 final
Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedenio cruised into the final
of the men’s 400 metres on Wednesday, after winning semi-finals Heat Three at
the World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Cedenio ran a steady race and when challenged by Jamaica’s
Akeem Bloomfield at the top of the homestretch just stepped up the pace
slightly to move away and win.
That effort, had Bloomfield tiring towards the end of the
race and he was passed by the fast-finishing Anthony Jose Zambrano of Colombia
in the final 50 metres.
Cedenio did a season best of 44.41 seconds with Zambrano
doing a national record of 44.55 as Bloomfield ended in 44.77.
