3 charged with shooting and arson

The St Catherine North Police say they have arrested and charged three men with several offences stemming from a case of shooting and arson in Brown’s Hall, St Catherine, on Wednesday, October 16.

Charged with arson, wounding with intent, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are:

• Zane Smith, 30, a construction worker of Brown’s Hall;

• Demoy Dixon, 29, a labourer of Bellefield district; and

• Damion Wynter of a St Catherine address.

According to the police, about 8:48 pm, the accused men went to the complainant’s home and shot him several times before setting his house ablaze.

The complainant was later taken to hospital where he was treated.

Court dates will be determined later.
