Camp Road, Arnold Road to get traffic signals this weekend
Jamaica’s National Works Agency (NWA) has indicated that the traffic signal at the intersection of Camp Road and Arnold Road will be turned
on over the weekend.
According to NWA’s communication and customer services
manager, Stephen Shaw, the lights will be installed in phases with road users
travelling south along Camp Road and wanting to turn on Arnold Road, now having
an exclusive filter light.
According to Shaw, the US$2.2m roadwork is almost finished,
with the first phase of paving works recently completed. This created a higher
capacity intersection at Camp Road and Arnold Road.
He said the intersection will continue to operate as a
T-junction with the finalising works to be completed in the upcoming days.
During the period, the final tests on the newly laid sewer
and water pipelines will be done, as well as the final layer of pavement on
both Camp Road and Arnold Road.
