Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh crowned Miss World 2019

Miss Jamaica Toni-Ann Singh has been crowned the 2019 Miss World winner. In third place is Miss India and second place, Miss France.

The 23-year-old beauty successfully took the top spot in the Talent competition where she wowed the judges with her vocals, singing Whitney Houston’s “I have nothing”. Her incredible vocal ability was again put on full display for the world when she performed twice during the coronation.

Toni-Ann gave an impassioned and charismatic response during her interview with Piers Morgan where she saluted her parents – particularly her mother – for their contribution to her growth, noting that they are “the roots” and she is now “bearing the fruits of their hard work”.

Toni-Ann’s successful sojourn to the crowning moment marks the first time a Caribbean native has taken the Miss World crown since 1993 when another Jamaican Lisa Hanna was crowned Miss World.
