Caribbean Airlines to launch non-stop flights between New York and Barbados
Caribbean Airlines Limited will launch non-stop flights between New York and Barbados beginning April 1.
The flights will go between the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport.
The
round-trip five-hour flight will operate once weekly with departures from
Barbados on Thursdays and flights from New York on Saturdays.
The
airline’s CEO, Garvin Medera, said, “This is a significant milestone for
Caribbean Airlines, and reiterates our commitment to giving our customers
options and access to regional and international destinations.
Caribbean
Airlines has been severely impacted by the coronavirus which resulted in a 71
per cent fall-off in its passengers as international borders closed and tourism
all but halted during the pandemic.
