Jamaica records 50 new COVID-19 cases, no deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica recorded 50 new COVID-19 cases yesterday and no deaths, bringing the country’s infection total to 49,429, while the total number of deaths remain at 1,012.
However, two deaths are under investigation.
According to reports from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the new cases comprise of 30 females and 20 males between the ages of seven months and 89 years.
Kingston and St Andrew recorded 16 cases, followed by St Catherine with seven cases, St Mary, St Ann and Manchester each had five cases, Westmoreland had four cases, Clarendon recorded three cases, St James had two cases while St Thomas, St Elizabeth and Portland recorded one case each.
Currently, 135 people have recovered from the virus, resulting in a total recovery of 28,054 and 19,984 active cases.
There are 131 people still hospitalised, with nine being critically ill and 20 moderately ill.
