Jamaica records 43 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica recorded 43 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths yesterday bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 49,607 and the death toll to 1,031.
According to the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the three deaths included a 71-year-old woman from St Ann, a 37-year-old woman from St Mary and a 55-year-old man from Kingston and St Andrew.
Of the 43 newly reported cases there were 22 females and 21 males with ages ranging from nine to 83 years.
Nineteen of the cases were recorded in St James, 12 in St Catherine and six in Kingston and St Andrew. Hanover recorded three cases while Westmoreland, Trelawny and Portland recorded one case each.
The country also recorded 132 recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 28,465.
